Virgin Hotels New York City
I'll be honest – when I first heard about Virgin Hotels New York City, I was skeptical about another trendy hotel trying too hard to be cool.
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Virgin Hotels New York City, I was skeptical about another trendy hotel trying too hard to be cool. But walking into this place on Broadway actually surprised me in the best way. The lobby has this warm, lived-in vibe that doesn’t scream “look at me” like so many boutique spots do. You know what really got me? The way they’ve managed to feel both polished and relaxed at the same time, which is honestly pretty rare in New York. The four-star rating makes total sense – it’s got that upscale feel without the stuffiness that usually comes with it.
What really sold me on this place is how they’ve nailed the details that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere. The rooms are smartly designed – not huge by any stretch (this is Manhattan, after all), but everything has its place and the beds are genuinely comfortable. I mean, you’re not going to spend much time in your room anyway when you’re steps from Madison Square Park and all the NoMad action, but it’s nice knowing you can actually get a good night’s sleep. The neighborhood thing is pretty perfect too – you’re right in the thick of things on Broadway but it’s not the tourist circus of Times Square. I love that you can walk to the Flatiron District in like ten minutes, or hop on the subway at 28th Street without fighting through crowds of people taking selfies.
The staff here actually seems to get it – they’re helpful without hovering, and they know the area well enough to give you solid recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots. I’ve stayed here during both busy conference season and quieter winter months, and the energy stays consistently good. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise (it’s Broadway, what do you expect?), but honestly it just feels like part of the New York experience. The whole Virgin brand thing could have been gimmicky, but they’ve kept it subtle – more about creating a comfortable space than shouting about how different they are. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentically New York without the attitude or the astronomical prices of some Midtown hotels, this spot really delivers.
New York hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this never-sleeping city, known for its Broadway shows, world-class museums, and legendary shopping districts.

Amazing trip seeing the sights and familt
Location was good, did not have breakfast but did eat on the terrace
What could be improved: Nothing
Overall very good but with a few drawbacks.
The room was excellent - loads of room for a family of four. The pool was great and some of the staff were excellent.
What could be improved: The aircon broke so we had to change rooms. One member of staff (guy with bright red jacket) was quite rude. Shame kids couldn't use the pool after lunch time.
Extremely impressed with the urgent hotel. I will without question book there again.
The location was absolutely perfect. The rooms were extremely large compared to many I’ve been in New York. They were very clean and had everything we needed and then some. The property had some very cool designs and an excellent staff.
What could be improved: I didn’t like that the pool was only open to those under 21 between the hours of eight and 1130.
Good
The room was clean and big (compare to other hotels on nyc)
Also very quiet
What could be improved: The staff was not the nicest.
You have to pay to get in the pool (minimum 100 dollars per person!)
They don’t write it, but if you want to sit next to the pool you have to reserve a sit, and must waste at least 100 dollars per person in the bar. Very disappointing.
Wonderful!
Everything was great, the location is super, the design is cool, the swimming pool has a nice view just like the bar on the highest floor.
What could be improved: Not enough mocktails - non alcoholic drinks in their bar offering.
Good
Property is clean, fun, new, - note that pool is free and acessible for hotel guest only form 8 to 11 am
What could be improved: Staff is super friendly, but servive (breakfast, or restaurant) super slow - need improvement
Was absolutely brilliant
Swimming pool
Restaurant was excellent
What could be improved: You need to pay to get access to the swimming pool after 12:00
Read carfully the Pool and Rooftop policie!
Clean, well-equipped rooms with plenty of space. Good location and amenities.
What could be improved: The pool and rooftop policies are not clearly stated. When you book a hotel with a pool, I think I should be able to use it without restrictions and extra charges. That is not the case here. Children are allowed only from 8:00–11:30 am, and adults must book a private session (and pay extra) starting at 12:00 am. The rooftop area is not allowed for children, and it was clearly stated: children are not welcome here.
Pretty great.
Good value, decent enough size rooms for NYC, fairly cool location for tourists. Food was good. Helpful staff.
What could be improved: Sadly pool was not open yet when we stayed in great weather. Might have said on electronic comms.
Nice hotel, one staff member clearly hates her job
Clean, good facilities.
What could be improved: The staff member who checked us in was awful. All the other staff were lovely, but coming off a long journey to be met with someone who didn’t smile, seemed disinterested, unfriendly and very transactional immediately put a sour taste in my mouth.
