First Impressions
Walking into Embassy Suites By Hilton New York Manhattan Times Square, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to create this surprisingly calm oasis right in the heart of Midtown’s chaos. The lobby has that classic Embassy Suites atrium feel — you know, the one with the glass elevators and open-air design — but what struck me was how well-maintained everything looked despite being in such a high-traffic area of New York. This four-star property doesn’t try to be flashy, which honestly works in its favor when you’re dealing with the sensory overload that is Times Square just a few blocks away.
The Location Sweet Spot
Here’s what I love about the West 37th Street location — you’re close enough to Times Square that you can walk there in about five minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds right outside your window. The Garment District might not sound glamorous, but it’s actually perfect for getting around the city. You’ve got multiple subway lines within walking distance, and I mean actually walkable, not that “New York walkable” where you’re huffing it for 15 minutes. Penn Station and Madison Square Garden are right there too, which makes getting to and from the airports way less stressful than staying further uptown.
Suite Life Reality
The suites here are what you’d expect from Embassy Suites — a separate living area with a pull-out sofa, mini-fridge, and microwave, plus a bedroom with a decent-sized bed. The room layouts actually make sense, unlike some Manhattan hotels where you feel like you’re playing Tetris just to open your suitcase. What I appreciated was the blackout curtains — and I mean real blackout curtains, not those flimsy things that let in every bit of street light. The bathrooms are nothing fancy, but they’re clean and functional with good water pressure, which honestly is all you really need after a long day of walking around the city.
Breakfast and Amenities
The complimentary breakfast buffet is where this place really shines for families or anyone trying to save money in an expensive city. It’s a proper American breakfast spread — eggs, bacon, pancakes, the works — not just pastries and coffee. The evening reception with free drinks is a nice touch too, though it gets pretty crowded during peak times. There’s a fitness center that’s small but has the basics, and while there’s no spa or anything fancy like that, they do have a business center that’s actually useful if you need to print boarding passes or handle work stuff.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being in the thick of things without feeling overwhelming. Couples especially seem to love it here — probably because you can easily walk to Broadway shows, great restaurants, and all the tourist spots, but you’re not paying those insane Times Square hotel prices. The staff knows their stuff about getting around the city, and there’s something to be said for staying with a brand that has its systems down pat. You’re not going to get any surprises here, and sometimes in New York, that reliability is exactly what you want.

Wonderful
What could be improved: Will prefer a hand held shower head
Great location worth checking out
The location was ideally located for shopping and sightseeing. The property offered breakfast with a variety offerings. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
What could be improved: The elevators were a bit slow and noisy.
Very Good
Spacious rooms and very clean
What could be improved: Counter staff were not great, but the concierge was brilliant.
Overall, comfortable and clean, great location.
I liked the complimentary snacks and drinks between 5-6:30
What could be improved: The elevator situation. You’re constantly in a line trying to get in the elevator.
View from our Bedroom Window
Very convenient location, easy for walking to attractions and subway. Room was immaculately clean. Staff were very friendly & accomdating
What could be improved: Our room wasn't ready, even though we arrived 1.5 hours after check in time. The booking was for 2 adults and 1 child, however the sofa bed wasn't made up, we had to ask them to do that.
Location was incredible and great value for money
29th floor junior suite … was much bigger than average NYC rooms with the most incredible view .. bed was so comfy
What could be improved: Breakfast room was busy
Good
The property was extremely clean and the staff was great
What could be improved: Our room and floor was hot thermostat set to lowest but still had trouble sleeping
Great location
Location and all staff were so kind
I truly enjoyed my stay at the embassy suites. The city view was top notch. The location was perfect! I will definitely
Clean, close to time square, great customer service every time I came in and out of the hotel, water was readily available, breakfast food was excellent
What could be improved: The long waits for the elevator
Overall a great location and comfortable place to stay.
i enjoyed the view of the city from our room being on the 30th floor has its perks the room was nice size for NYC and was very clean and comfortable.
What could be improved: Every morning the breakfast was over full with guest, some times it meant waiting for 20 minutes stalking a table for someone to leave, very uncomfortable experience. I tried multiple different times for breakfast and unless you can get your family there before 8am you probably will be in a similar experience.
I was not aware the hotel does not have its own parking there is an attached garage that charges you about $50 a day after a discounted rate. The elevators seem to always stop when no guest are on the floor I am not sure why but it makes leaving your room a bit frustrating.
