First Impressions
Walking into BeHome by LuxUrban on 8th Avenue, you immediately get the sense that this three-star hotel is trying to punch above its weight — and honestly, it mostly succeeds. The lobby has this modern, minimalist vibe that feels more boutique than budget, though you can tell they’ve been smart about where to spend and where to save. It’s not flashy, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup that I actually appreciated.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about Hell’s Kitchen — it’s become one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists are just discovering. You’re literally steps from Times Square if that’s your thing, but you can also duck into authentic hole-in-the-wall spots that haven’t been completely touristified yet. The New York subway access is fantastic from here, and I mean that — you’ve got multiple lines within a few blocks. Couples seem to really get this location (the hotel mentioned they rate it 9.0), and I can see why. There’s this perfect balance of energy and intimacy in the area.
The Room Experience
My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — they’ve clearly studied how to maximize every square inch. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for this price point, and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure (you know that’s always a gamble in older NYC buildings). What I loved was the attention to little details — decent lighting for actually reading, enough outlets for your devices, and blackout curtains that actually work. The soundproofing isn’t perfect, but it’s better than you’d expect given the location.
Neighborhood Dining
While the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, that’s actually not a problem here. Hell’s Kitchen has become this incredible food destination — I’m talking everything from James Beard Award winners to family-run places that have been here for decades. There’s a solid bodega right around the corner for basics, and honestly, some of the best Thai food in the city is within walking distance. The staff gave me a few recommendations that were spot-on, which tells me they actually know their neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a place that’s going to wow you with amenities or over-the-top service. What it does well is give you a clean, comfortable base in one of Manhattan’s most dynamic neighborhoods without breaking the bank. The 6.6 rating might seem modest, but I think that reflects realistic expectations — this is solid, no-nonsense accommodation in a city where hotel prices can be absolutely brutal. For couples especially, the location really delivers on that “authentic New York” experience while keeping you connected to everything else you want to see.

Location
We loved the location, it was just three blocks away from Times Square, and very near some interesting places like All Antico Vinaggio that is a viral and must-try Italian Focaccia's spot. Bedrooms are worth the price cause it's really a place to spend the night. The stairs "problem" is just a minor issue when you are walking a bazillion miles daily in NYC.
Location.
Value for money.
The location was great! So close to Times Square-like a 2 minute walk and great restaurants. The room was soooo tiny and it didn't have a elevator. We stayed on the 5th floor so we were out of breath by the time we got to our room, and I'm young. So request a lower level. You do hear a train running at night when it's quite but it didn't disturb my sleep. We only stayed for 3 nights and we were happy with the hotels location. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The lounge area was spacious, quite, and clean. I would stay here again just for the location of a great city!!
